The original site of Lord Buddha Temple was located in Telok Kurau. Due to the efficaciousness of the Buddha, the temple enjoyed thriving incense offerings, with a continuous stream of devotees coming to pray and seek blessings, often causing traffic congestion in the surrounding area. Recognizing that the old site could no longer accommodate the growing number of devotees, lay Buddhist Lim Chew Hock decided to relocate the temple. Around 1990, the temple was moved to its current location at 24 Arumugam Road. At present, the temple is managed by Management Committee of the Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association, and a comprehensive renovation project was completed at the end of 2019.
